The Brief
Camm Upholstery was commissioned to produce bespoke banquette seating throughout Society, one of Melbourne’s premier fine dining venues.
Spanning three distinct spaces, Society Dining Room, Lillian Brasserie, and The Lounge, the brief required a unified design outcome across a variety of formats.
We worked closely with the interior design team at Russell & George to develop seating that would embody the venue’s modern, sophisticated aesthetic while delivering a luxurious guest experience. The project called for a full prototyping stage, ensuring that every design detail, fabric choice, and comfort level aligned perfectly with the client’s vision.

Our Approach
We began with an in-depth development phase, producing full-scale prototypes in December 2019 to test comfort, foam densities, and profile contours.
Each of the three banquette styles was trialled in short lengths and reviewed by the client team to refine materials and ergonomics before full production. Materials were selected in close collaboration with Russell & George, with premium fabrics from Warwick, Radford, and Designers Guild, alongside leathers and vinyls from Instyle.
Every piece was crafted with meticulous attention to detail, incorporating complex sewing techniques, custom timber finishes, and ergonomically designed internal structures. Installation took place between September and October 2020, with seamless on-site delivery and flawless integration into each of the dining spaces.
